Emmanuel Reyes made in the 24th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Milagros Fraga. Rolando Noboa made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Ragnar Åberg sent off a good shot on target. In the 29thth minute of the game Julian Murillo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Nevşehirspor's Gianluca Buffon was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ragnar Åberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ragnar Åberg could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Rolando Noboa made a huge save. Rolando Noboa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ragnar Åberg's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. In the 42nd minute, Julian Murillo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gianluca Buffon was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After the first half Peru were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Gianluca Buffon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 55th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Ragnar Åberg's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rolando Noboa was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. Nevşehirspor made a substitution. Cipriano Proença replaced Ragnar Åberg. A sloppy throw-in by Ferdi Kadıoğlu in the 63rd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Peru's Eliseo Mina. Cipriano Proença might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rolando Noboa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cipriano Proença ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cipriano Proença in the 81st minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The throw-in from Moises Gayoso in the 84th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Nevşehirspor's Baltasar Frasquito. In the 88th match minute, Peru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Milagros Fraga to maneuver through the defense. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo. After 90 played minutes Peru got a freekick which was hit by Milagros Fraga. In the 93rd minute, Rafael Gallo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gianluca Buffon was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Peru played a much better game than Nevşehirspor and deserved their victory. The Nevşehirspor players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
