Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Amerigo Egger took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 2nd minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Modesto Oakley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amerigo Egger in the 4th minute of play. In the 5th minute of the match Lilywhites got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ermanno Baratta ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 13th minute Agustín Saelices shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Modesto Oakley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Modesto Oakley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Róbert Szepes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Frodo Di Marco during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 29th minute of play forced Lilywhites's goalkeeper Modesto Oakley to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 31 minutes into the match, Lilywhites's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Modesto Oakley reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With an all-out effort, Lilywhites's Julio Vera threw himself towards the right post 36 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ermanno Baratta, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amerigo Egger in the 39th minute of play. Amerigo Egger in the 43rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Julio Vera, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Modesto Oakley didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cosimo Michelini in the 52nd minute of play. Modesto Oakley made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. After 57 minutes of play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Modesto Oakley was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 60thth minute of the game Amerigo Egger who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After taking down the ball on Lilywhites's corner Ermanno Baratta fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Julio Vera quite easily take care of the ball. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Modesto Oakley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 69 minutes into the match, Lilywhites's goalkeeper Modesto Oakley had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. After 71 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Cristian Sancho. Felix Montes hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. In the 79th minute the ball was on its way in behind Lilywhites's goalkeeper Modesto Oakley, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 86th minute, Antonio Arias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ermanno Baratta's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. 89 minutes into the game, Amerigo Egger cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 94th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Lilywhites's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. When Alberto Lupo fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lilywhites's protests and gave Alberto Lupo a yellow card for diving instead. In the 95th minute, Alberto Lupo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Ecuador players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
