If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 18 minutes into the game, Christoffer Blomqvist cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Dante Lacasa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 39th minute, Alberto Tafalla got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Angelo Prior showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Dante Lacasa made a fantastic save in the 48th minute, when Baladi Ribalta sent off a good shot on target.

A nice corner shot did that Rafael Jauregui got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Dante Lacasa quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 57th minute, Rafael Jauregui left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The MILLONARIOS FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Lautaro Mancebo's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. Mexico may have spent more time on the ball, but MILLONARIOS FC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
