Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) FORTALEZA's Dmitry Yakubovsky started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th minute, Fedor Tabalevich got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A sloppy throw-in by Róbson de Amaral in the 11th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by FORTALEZA's Sergey Aleksandrov. Sergey Aleksandrov kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. In the 12th minute Acácio Alves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Per-Olof Kihlberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dmitry Yakubovsky was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 13th minute. FORTALEZA's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 14th match minute, S.C.PAULISTA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frank Leão to maneuver through the defense. Sergey Aleksandrov kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. In the 23rd minute of the match, Fedor Tabalevich got a very nice opportunity to score, but Flávio Fantini was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fedor Tabalevich got free with Flávio Fantini in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 25th minute Dmitry Yakubovsky shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flávio Fantini saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 27 played minutes FORTALEZA got a freekick which was hit by Boris Kotov. In the 28th minute, Boris Kotov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in FORTALEZA's zone, Acácio Alves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Per-Olof Kihlberg came out of the goal and Acácio Alves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Róbson de Amaral hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. In the 43rd minute Fernando Prado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Per-Olof Kihlberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fernando Prado to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the game, FORTALEZA's Dmitry Yakubovsky nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Flávio Fantini made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Dmitry Yakubovsky sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vasily Stahanovich's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Flávio Fantini read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. Flávio Fantini made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vasily Stahanovich in the 64th minute of play. Acácio Alves might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Per-Olof Kihlberg. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Acácio Alves ran back to his position shaking his head. Flávio Fantini made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vasily Stahanovich in the 69th minute of play. Dmitry Yakubovsky fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Flávio Fantini having to interfere. With an all-out effort, S.C.PAULISTA's Per-Olof Kihlberg threw himself towards the right post 72 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Fernando Prado, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 74 minutes FORTALEZA's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Cláudio Leite who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Cláudio Leite got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Per-Olof Kihlberg quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Fedor Tabalevich hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. After 77 played minutes S.C.PAULISTA got a freekick which was hit by Cláudio Leite. After a rather tough play, S.C.PAULISTA's Róbson de Amaral got a free kick in the 85th minute. 89 minutes into the game, Dmitry Yakubovsky cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Flávio Fantini was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Flávio Fantini showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vasily Stahanovich in the 93rd minute of the match. In the 95th minute of the match FORTALEZA got a corner. S.C.PAULISTA's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Pavel Yarmalovich ran over to the corner to take the kick. FORTALEZA's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
