Guilherme Penha was slow to take the kick. During this time Galo do Japi's players had a chance to rest. 16 minutes into the match, Soflov FC's Feliks Nieruchliwy sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Delfim Chaves narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 17thth minute of the game Chucky Norris who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Soflov FC's Patricio Salamon was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Joel Catarinense in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Patricio Salamon prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Joel Catarinense came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Galo do Japi fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joel Catarinense couldn't finish the play. 22 minutes into the match, Soflov FC's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Catarinense came free, but Patricio Salamon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 23 minutes into the match, Falcão Duarte notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Soflov FC's Patricio Salamon. Patricio Salamon was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Galo do Japi's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Guilherme Penha in the 38th minute. The corner ended in Guilherme Penha almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Soflov FC's Patricio Salamon did a great save. In the 44th minute the ball was on its way in behind Soflov FC's goalkeeper Patricio Salamon, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Marcus Briceag made in the 47th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Galo do Japi's Dagoberto Tande. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Feliks Nieruchliwy was the one to do the kick off. In the 57th minute Joel Catarinense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patricio Salamon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee showed Nilmar Mota the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Nilmar Mota hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Joel Catarinense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leo Toli scored 1-2 in the 87th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Delfim Chaves, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
