Inter Gala's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Yeferson Soteldo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Armando Iturburu during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 20th minute, Armando Iturburu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Criciúma Esporte Clube's Evelio Antoniano got control of the ball when Osvaldinho Baptista tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Armando Iturburu made a kick off. Artur Saraiva got a throw-in 52 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Osvaldinho Baptista. Naldo Félix took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Armando Iturburu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Inter Gala's Naldo Félix proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Inter Gala from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Inter Gala getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Nestor Hoffmann hit a great ball. 64 minutes into the game, Artur Saraiva was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Inter Gala's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Criciúma Esporte Clube the free kick. Yeferson Soteldo's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 65thth minute, Naldo Félix skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. During the 89th minute of the match Artur Saraiva completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Artur Saraiva a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Criciúma Esporte Clube booed when Inter Gala was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Artur Saraiva didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Yeferson Soteldo got free with Naldo Félix in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Criciúma Esporte Clube's Denis Serra quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Osvaldinho Baptista, made in the 92nd minute of the game. The Inter Gala manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Criciúma Esporte Clube to win.
