Per-Olof Kihlberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reinaldo Dracena in the 5th minute of the match. In the 6th match minute, FORTALEZA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dmitry Yakubovsky to maneuver through the defense. In the 9th minute, Fedor Tabalevich hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. FORTALEZA's Per-Olof Kihlberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reinaldo Dracena in the 10th minute of play. Fedor Tabalevich kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Inter Gala's Magno Matorin slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Per-Olof Kihlberg. That made the score 1-0 after 17 minutes of play. A collision led to Inter Gala getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Magno Matorin hit a great ball. FORTALEZA's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Magno Matorin 23 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-0. Reinaldo Dracena recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Staneslav Kotov kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. FORTALEZA's Per-Olof Kihlberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reinaldo Dracena in the 29th minute of play. In the 30th minute of the match Inter Gala got a corner. FORTALEZA's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Flavinho Vasconcelos ran over to the corner to take the kick. Through an outstanding action, after 32 minutes, Per-Olof Kihlberg successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. A collision led to Inter Gala getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Nestor Hoffmann hit a great ball. In the 35th minute, a hard, long distance shot from Pavel Yarmalovich hit the top of the crossbar and flew over the goal. Fedor Tabalevich charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fedor Tabalevich the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Fedor Tabalevich hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. In the 40th minute Magno Matorin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Per-Olof Kihlberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fedor Tabalevich hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Naldo Félix showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Santo Gorka in the 55th minute of the match. Pavel Serada was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 63 minutes into the match. After 63 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for FORTALEZA! The referee gave Inter Gala a penalty, 66 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Flavinho Vasconcelos, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of FORTALEZA's Per-Olof Kihlberg. 3-0. Osvaldinho Baptista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Per-Olof Kihlberg having to interfere. In the 72nd minute Reinaldo Dracena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Per-Olof Kihlberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Inter Gala's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Flavinho Vasconcelos in the 77th minute. Per-Olof Kihlberg didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Magno Matorin went, in the 84th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. Dráusio Batista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Per-Olof Kihlberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Inter Gala's Reinaldo Dracena got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dráusio Batista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Per-Olof Kihlberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 97th minute, Osvaldinho Baptista got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
