Corryn Veloz didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 10th minute Fernando Lucas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Delfim Chaves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcelo Gröhe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Catarinense in the 12th minute of play. In the 14th minute, Joel Catarinense ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marcelo Gröhe was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Nilson Duarte fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Delfim Chaves having to interfere. In the 22nd match minute, Galo do Japi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Falcão Duarte to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Independente FC getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Joaquim Eanes hit a great ball. 24 minutes into the match, Independente FC's goalkeeper Marcelo Gröhe had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Chucky Norris. In the 25th match minute, Galo do Japi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Corryn Veloz to maneuver through the defense. Delfim Chaves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raí Prestes, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. In the 38th match minute, Galo do Japi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Falcão Duarte to maneuver through the defense. Chucky Norris scored 2-0 in the 44th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marcelo Gröhe, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fernando Lucas was the one to do the kick off. Delfim Chaves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fernando Lucas, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. In the 55th match minute, Galo do Japi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ranko Toko to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Galo do Japi's Joel Catarinense got a free kick in the 58th minute. Joaquim Eanes made in the 59th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Galo do Japi's Corryn Veloz. Edinho Secco made in the 61st minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Galo do Japi's Corryn Veloz. Joel Catarinense's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marcelo Gröhe read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 67th minute of play. 68 minutes had been played when some careless play by Independente FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Guilherme Penha was slow to take the kick. During this time Galo do Japi's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Galo do Japi's Guilherme Penha to fire away a dangerous shot which Marcelo Gröhe despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 69th minute, Ranko Toko hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Carlos Fernando de Toledo didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Galo do Japi's Delfim Chaves got control of the ball when Raí Prestes tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 80th minute, one of Independente FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Independente FC. Independente FC:s Marcelo Gröhe showed great skill when he stopped Chucky Norris:s penalty. Galo do Japi's Joel Catarinense got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Marcelo Gröhe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Catarinense in the 86th minute of the match. 89 minutes into the match, Galo do Japi's Joel Catarinense sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marcelo Gröhe narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Joaquim Eanes made in the 93rd minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Nilson Duarte. Marcelo Gröhe came out of the goal in the 95th minute to try and stop a shot by Galo do Japi's Joel Catarinense. But to his dismay, Joel Catarinense quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Galo do Japi were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Independente FC for a fine match.
