The audience thought a goal was coming when Birger Benett got free with Jo Øverås in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some careless play in the FC NORDLAND defense, Luis Bonet kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joar Frisck. The FC NORDLAND fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joar Frisck should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Bonet in the 25th minute of play forced FC NORDLAND's goalkeeper Joar Frisck to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joar Frisck made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberigo Mancini in the 32nd minute of play. Luis Bonet scored 0-2 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Joar Frisck, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. FC NORDLAND's Joar Frisck played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Bonet in the 38th minute of play. After 41 played minutes FC NORDLAND got a freekick which was hit by Buba Breitner. When Angelillo Di Maria came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the FC NORDLAND fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Angelillo Di Maria couldn't finish the play. Buba Breitner got a throw-in 45 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Alan Vides. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
