The referee showed Mon Ibaute the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Mon Ibaute hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. 17 minutes into the match, MILLONARIOS FC's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Tafalla came free, but Angelo Prior reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dante Lacasa made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Christoffer Blomqvist sent off a good shot on target. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Mexico's Dante Lacasa got control of the ball when Rafael Jauregui tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 35 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Felix Luque. Lorenzo Cazalla kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juan Corredor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The wind increased when Christoffer Blomqvist made the kick off in the second half. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. MILLONARIOS FC's Angelo Prior proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save MILLONARIOS FC from getting a goal against them. After 66 played minutes, MILLONARIOS FC's Rafael Jauregui shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Dante Lacasa came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in MILLONARIOS FC reached it. MILLONARIOS FC's Angelo Prior proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save MILLONARIOS FC from getting a goal against them. Alberto Tafalla could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Angelo Prior made a huge save. In the 75th minute of the match Mexico got a corner. MILLONARIOS FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joel Gaona ran over to the corner to take the kick.
