Azulgranas's Łukasz Fabiański played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felipe Vedillo in the 44th minute of play. 48 minutes into the match, Faro querandi's goal looked a bit too open when Geovanny Sabugo came free, but Roque Gabon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Faro querandi players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Azulgranas were winning 0-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Silverio Calvet to make the kick off. Roque Gabon made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sánchez Castruita in the 54th minute. A hard shot by Marco Zust from long distance, 60 minutes into the match, got Roque Gabon's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Azulgranas's Ulises Terroba was substituted for Inocencio Tarresola. Azulgranas's Victoriano Movilla was substituted for Sánchez Castruita. After having played for 83 minutes, Silverio Calvet managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Faro querandi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Silverio Calvet was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 85th match minute, Azulgranas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Francisco Berrios to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felipe Vedillo in the 86th minute of play forced Azulgranas's goalkeeper Łukasz Fabiański to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 89 played minutes, Faro querandi's Nahuel Molina shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Łukasz Fabiański came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Faro querandi reached it. Łukasz Fabiański made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Segundo Salvino in the 94th minute of play. The supporters of Azulgranas booed when Faro querandi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tiburcio Xabat didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Azulgranas supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Azulgranas would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
