The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nickolai Nickerson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jim Njurenius took the ball and in the 54 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rolando Noboa. Rolando Noboa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Julian Murillo got free with Eric Soned in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Luz Tejedor could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Eric Soned made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nickolai Nickerson in the 69th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 73 played minutes Peru got a freekick which was hit by Milagros Fraga. Peru's Alonso Berganza quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Tomasz Jakubowski, made in the 77th minute of the game. The throw-in from Tomasz Jakubowski in the 78th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Peru's Alonso Berganza. Morgan Möllgren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Peru made a substitution. Antonio Tenorio replaced Luz Tejedor.
