Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Julian Murillo started the match with the kick off. In the 8th match minute, Peru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alonso Berganza to maneuver through the defense. When Esteve Herrera fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lanús's protests and gave Esteve Herrera a yellow card for diving instead. In the 11th minute, Esteve Herrera hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 13th minute, Milagros Fraga ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Manuel Neuer was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 16th minute Roberto Puch shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind Lanús's goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Manuel Neuer came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by Peru's Eliseo Mina. But to his dismay, Eliseo Mina quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. After 27 minutes, Jake Hursey mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lanús and the Peru players grew even worse after the yellow card. 27 minutes into the game, one of Lanús:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Manuel Neuer had in the 28thth minute some difficulties stopping Luz Tejedor's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. A sloppy throw-in by Benjamin Venceslas in the 30th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Peru's Eliseo Mina. In the 33rd minute, Julian Murillo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Peru fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Manuel Neuer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luz Tejedor in the 37th minute of the match. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind Lanús's goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roberto Puch in the 46th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 47th match minute, Lanús was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jake Hursey to maneuver through the defense. Jake Hursey hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Eloy Gaskon made a kick off. Manuel Neuer made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Julian Murillo sent off a good shot on target. Eloy Gaskon blasted a shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rolando Noboa having to make a save. Eliseo Mina was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 58th minute. Peru's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Manuel Neuer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Manuel Neuer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 63rd minute of the match. 67 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Eloy Gaskon came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lanús's Benjamin Venceslas quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Moises Gayoso, made in the 75th minute of the game. With a little luck, Lanús's Manuel Neuer got control of the ball when Julian Murillo tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Lanús's Benjamin Venceslas got a free kick in the 77th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eloy Gaskon in the 84th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rolando Noboa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some careless play in the Peru defense, Eloy Gaskon kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rolando Noboa. The Peru fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rolando Noboa should have stopped the shot. Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo. A sloppy throw-in by Benjamin Venceslas in the 93rd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Peru's Alonso Berganza. After 97 played minutes Peru got a freekick which was hit by Efraim Gilabert. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Peru eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
