The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 3 played minutes Vanderslaike FC got a freekick which was hit by Túlio da Mata. In the 6th match minute, Vanderslaike FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edinho Cabral to maneuver through the defense. Placido Nisio took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 7th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Moisés Sabóia. Vanderslaike FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Ulisses Quadros charged in rather forcefully in the 9th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ulisses Quadros the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Vanderslaike FC getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Ulisses Quadros hit a great ball. Moisés Sabóia made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Feliberto Joey sent off a good shot on target. In the 11th minute, Yala's Feliberto Joey ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Moisés Sabóia. Moisés Sabóia yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Vanderslaike FC's Moisés Sabóia proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save Vanderslaike FC from getting a goal against them. Edinho Cabral kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Bruno Lawrence sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Valentin Eguntsenti made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo José Sena in the 27th minute of play. In the 29th minute, Ciro Ortiz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Yala booed when Vanderslaike FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guga Sarmento didn't get a good kick on the ball. 38 minutes into the match, Vanderslaike FC's goalkeeper Moisés Sabóia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bruno Lawrence. If Paulo José Sena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Herminio Richie kicked well hit freekick during the 48th minute of the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Feliberto Joey stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 53 minutes of play, Yala's Bruno Lawrence made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Moisés Sabóia was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 57th minute, Apolo Sarracino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Vanderslaike FC defense, Feliberto Joey kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Moisés Sabóia. The Vanderslaike FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Moisés Sabóia should have stopped the shot. Guga Sarmento's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 72ndth minute, Valentin Eguntsenti skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Guga Sarmento in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Valentin Eguntsenti saved Yala from getting behind. 95 minutes into the match, Yala's Bruno Lawrence sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Moisés Sabóia narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Yala's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
