The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 4 minutes, Durvalino Travassos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the New Joinville - FSCMZ and the GUSESI players grew even worse after the yellow card. Durvalino Travassos kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. Sidney de Queirós kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. The supporters of New Joinville - FSCMZ booed when GUSESI was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Placido Refugio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Celso Oto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lamine Xande's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. After a rather tough play, New Joinville - FSCMZ's Marquinhos Jacinto got a free kick in the 12th minute. After 13 played minutes, GUSESI's Tiburcio Cuartio shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Emerson Chaves came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in GUSESI reached it. Chiquinho de Amorim tried in the game's 17th match minute to clear up in front of his own goal but it went so bad that he put the ball into the goal to the left of an unhappy Emerson Chaves. An annoying self made goal, 1-0. In the 26th minute, Sidney de Queirós hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When New Joinville - FSCMZ's Lamine Xande in the 28th minute got a chance for a shot 28th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye GUSESI's goalie prevented a goal. GUSESI's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tiburcio Cuartio in the 30th minute. The corner ended in Tiburcio Cuartio almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but New Joinville - FSCMZ's Emerson Chaves did a great save. Ruben Cayo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind GUSESI's goalkeeper Celso Oto, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Lamine Xande sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Lamine Xande's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Celso Oto was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. Celso Oto came out of the goal in the 41st minute to try and stop a shot by New Joinville - FSCMZ's Válbson Schmidt. But to his dismay, Válbson Schmidt quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Lamine Xande sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 46th minute Lamine Xande shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Celso Oto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 47th minute, Lamine Xande made a precise shot to the right of Celso Oto. GUSESI's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lamine Xande to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Sidney de Queirós notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of GUSESI's Celso Oto. Celso Oto was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 56th minute, Placido Refugio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 58 minutes, Lamine Xande took a quick shot and it went in 1-4 without a chance for Celso Oto to make any attempt to save it. After some careless play in the GUSESI defense, Válbson Schmidt kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Celso Oto. The GUSESI fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Celso Oto should have stopped the shot. New Joinville - FSCMZ's Guilherme Tavares was substituted for Emílio Martins. New Joinville - FSCMZ's Glauco Correia was substituted for Sidney de Queirós. New Joinville - FSCMZ's Robinho de Souza was substituted for Xande Musiala. Celso Oto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lamine Xande's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. GUSESI's Celso Oto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronaldo Viana in the 74th minute of play. In the 75th minute Válbson Schmidt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Celso Oto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Robinho de Souza received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Celso Oto came out and tried to block the shot, but Robinho de Souza slotted it home off the left post making it 1-6 in the 76th minute. Robinho de Souza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Celso Oto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The New Joinville - FSCMZ fans' excitement grew in the 86th match minute when New Joinville - FSCMZ's Lamine Xande looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-7 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Robinho de Souza's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 89thth minute, Celso Oto skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Celso Oto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lamine Xande, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 94 minutes into the match, GUSESI's goalkeeper Celso Oto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Robinho de Souza. GUSESI's Celso Oto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Durvalino Travassos in the 97th minute of play. New Joinville - FSCMZ played a much better game than GUSESI and deserved their victory. The GUSESI players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
