Tony Leite hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. In the 6th match minute, Inter Gala was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ismael Motta to maneuver through the defense. Isaias Rafe kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. In the 11th minute, Armandinho Queiroz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mauro Pombal could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Celso Oto made a huge save. The supporters of Inter Gala booed when GUSESI was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isaias Rafe didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ricardinho de Souza in the 22nd minute of play forced GUSESI's goalkeeper Celso Oto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 26 played minutes Inter Gala got a freekick which was hit by Tony Leite. Through an outstanding action, after 28 minutes, Celso Oto successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. GUSESI were furious when Ubaldo Efraim was red carded, 31 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Celso Oto was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Armandinho Queiroz. The crowd rose to their feet as Mauro Pombal kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Celso Oto. That made the score 1-0 in the 33 minute of play. With an all-out effort, Inter Gala's Celso Oto threw himself towards the right post 36 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ricardinho de Souza, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. With a little luck, GUSESI's Celso Oto got control of the ball when Mauro Pombal tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Inter Gala's Tony Leite got a free kick in the 46th minute. In the 48th minute of the match Placido Refugio shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Olívio Abraão showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mauro Pombal made a kick off. In the 51st minute Ademar Figueiredo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Celso Oto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Celso Oto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Víktor Passos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ruben Cayo kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. If Tales Alvarenga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Isaias Rafe hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Celso Oto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ricardinho de Souza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Inter Gala defense, Ruben Cayo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Olívio Abraão. The Inter Gala fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Olívio Abraão should have stopped the shot. Celso Oto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mauro Pombal, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. 73 minutes into the game, Inter Gala's Víktor Passos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Celso Oto made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Celso Oto didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Víktor Passos went, in the 77th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. 80 minutes into the game, Ademar Figueiredo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Celso Oto was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Celso Oto came out of the goal in the 89th minute to try and stop a shot by Inter Gala's Víktor Passos. But to his dismay, Víktor Passos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. After 93 played minutes GUSESI got a freekick which was hit by Anibal Arotza. Celso Oto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mauro Pombal, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. Inter Gala's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
