Robert Jurčić charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Robert Jurčić the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 11th minute, Robert Jurčić hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the GUSESI defense, Claudio Brkić kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Celso Oto. The GUSESI fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Celso Oto should have stopped the shot. The supporters of GUSESI booed when FC Koper was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Izidor Brinšek didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, FC Koper's Bine Šercelj got control of the ball when Anibal Arotza tried to sneak it across the goal line. Celso Oto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luka Saje in the 24th minute of play. After some careless play in the GUSESI defense, Claudio Brkić kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Celso Oto. The GUSESI fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Celso Oto should have stopped the shot. 30 minutes into the match, FC Koper's goalkeeper Bine Šercelj had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Anibal Arotza. If Anibal Arotza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 43rd minute, GUSESI's Isaias Rafe seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Isaias Rafe the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of GUSESI protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Isaias Rafe had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. A collision led to GUSESI getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Isaias Rafe hit a great ball. The GUSESI players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. FC Koper were winning 0-2.

Celso Oto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luka Saje, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. FC Koper's Luka Saje was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 54th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. 59 minutes into the match, FC Koper's goal looked a bit too open when Toto Schillaci came free, but Bine Šercelj reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Claudio Brkić fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Celso Oto having to interfere. Celso Oto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luka Saje, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. If Toto Schillaci had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. GUSESI's Celso Oto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save GUSESI from getting a goal against them. Toto Schillaci sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Toto Schillaci recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpected shot in the 85th minute by Claudio Brkić got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Ruben Cayo hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luka Saje in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Celso Oto saved GUSESI from getting behind. In the 96thth minute of the game Toto Schillaci who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Koper's Bine Šercelj was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The FC Koper players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
