But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Karol Kaczorowski couldn't finish the play. ACF Gigliati's Feliks Szkarpiak played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evan Le Moullec in the 28th minute of play. Evan Le Moullec's late challenge caught a ACF Gigliati's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Evan Le Moullec helped the player get up and apologised. Julian Buczkos short, quick shot in the 41stth minute got Csongor Kun to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 43 minutes into the match, Chaponnay FC's goalkeeper Csongor Kun had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wieslaw Lichucki. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Julian Buczko was the one to do the kick off.
