An unexpectedly hard shot by Knut Rudberg in the 8th minute of play forced Original Sabahan's goalkeeper Egil Kilberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ronnie Hellström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Micky Febrian in the 12th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Joko Waluyo got free with Ronnie Hellström in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Egil Kilberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Knut Rudberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Original Sabahan's Egil Kilberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kevin Keegan in the 33rd minute of play. Ronnie Hellström was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Micky Febrian showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 35 minute of play. Joko Waluyo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Skövde AIK's Ronnie Hellström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Micky Febrian in the 44th minute of play. After having played for 47 minutes, Cristoforo Strazzabosco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Original Sabahan's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristoforo Strazzabosco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joko Waluyo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Micky Febrian fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Original Sabahan's protests and gave Micky Febrian a yellow card for diving instead. Original Sabahan's Dewa Kooth managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Krister Uggstedt in the 53 minute of the game. Joko Waluyo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ronnie Hellström read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. 57 minutes into the match, Original Sabahan's goal looked a bit too open when Chen Ao Fan came free, but Egil Kilberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Egil Kilberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chen Ao Fan in the 61st minute of the match. In the 64th minute of the match, Kevin Keegan got a very nice opportunity to score, but Egil Kilberg was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Ronnie Hellström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joko Waluyo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 72nd minute, Micky Febrian left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Original Sabahan fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. 81 minutes into the match, Skövde AIK's goal looked a bit too open when Micky Febrian came free, but Ronnie Hellström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Micky Febrian fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronnie Hellström having to interfere. Original Sabahan made a substitution. Yahya Kılıçaslan replaced Joko Waluyo. Ronnie Hellström came out of the goal in the 89th minute to try and stop a shot by Original Sabahan's Yahya Kılıçaslan. But to his dismay, Yahya Kılıçaslan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. 93 minutes into the game, Original Sabahan's Yahya Kılıçaslan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ronnie Hellström made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. When the referee blew the final whistle, Original Sabahan could leave the field as winners, despite Skövde AIK having more of the ball for most of the match.
