Eliseo Mina fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rüştü Rencber having to interfere. Rafael Gallo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rüştü Rencber read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play. A well-hit corner resulted in Eliseo Alcocer heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Rafael Gallo scored 0-5 in the 98th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rüştü Rencber, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Peru's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
