When the match clock showed 7 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Tomas Illescas sped through ꑿ.Ꮳ. ꋪꋬℑꋬꇓ's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Deilmison Yashin. After 12 minutes of play, ꑿ.Ꮳ. ꋪꋬℑꋬꇓ's Durval Tinoco made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there! Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Deilmison Yashin having to interfere. Leonel Botelho kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bater Cuca in the 33rd minute of play. In the 35th minute ꑿ.Ꮳ. ꋪꋬℑꋬꇓ were awarded a corner. Rubens Tasso went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Rubens Tasso got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Jonathan Ferrant quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 37 minutes into the match, ꑿ.Ꮳ. ꋪꋬℑꋬꇓ's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Deilmison Yashin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bater Cuca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 43rd minute, Rigoberto Mina hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 44 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Rubens Tasso came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 46th minute, Patricio Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Tomas Illescas made the kick off in the second half. Durval Tinoco might have been able to make a better finish in the 51st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonathan Ferrant. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Durval Tinoco ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 53rd minute, Rigoberto Mina hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rubens Tasso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jose Correa kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. In the 58th minute the ball was on its way in behind ꑿ.Ꮳ. ꋪꋬℑꋬꇓ's goalkeeper Deilmison Yashin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bater Cuca in the 60th minute of play. In the 64th minute of the match ꑿ.Ꮳ. ꋪꋬℑꋬꇓ got a corner. Venezuela's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Rubens Tasso ran over to the corner to take the kick. After a rather tough play, ꑿ.Ꮳ. ꋪꋬℑꋬꇓ's Baltazar de Castro got a free kick in the 65th minute. ꑿ.Ꮳ. ꋪꋬℑꋬꇓ made a substitution. Otávio Meirelles replaced Bater Cuca. The supporters of Venezuela booed when ꑿ.Ꮳ. ꋪꋬℑꋬꇓ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Baltazar de Castro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jose Correa kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Jose Correa's late challenge caught a ꑿ.Ꮳ. ꋪꋬℑꋬꇓ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jose Correa didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Rubens Tasso managed to get in a good position for a shot. ꑿ.Ꮳ. ꋪꋬℑꋬꇓ's supporters rose to their feet, but Rubens Tasso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. ꑿ.Ꮳ. ꋪꋬℑꋬꇓ's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
