In the 17th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nils-Erik Soned saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there! Nils-Erik Soned made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 39th minute of play. Tomas Illescas took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 44th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Nils-Erik Soned. Fluet FK's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Rigoberto Mina got a free kick in the 45th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Tomas Illescas made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Malcolm Biörkquist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 57 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Gilbert Ek came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tomas Illescas took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nils-Erik Soned. Nils-Erik Soned dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. After 64 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Rigoberto Mina. If Wit Walec had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roman Trzenzalski in the 70th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 76 minutes, Örjan Bengtsson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fluet FK and the Venezuela players grew even worse after the yellow card. The audience thought a goal was coming when Roberto Ocampo got free with Nils-Erik Soned in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 82 minutes had been played when some careless play by Fluet FK's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joshua Secada was slow to take the kick. During this time Venezuela's players had a chance to rest. The supporters of Fluet FK booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Gaos didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 87th minute, Guillermo Mariano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gilbert Ek fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. In the 95th minute, Roberto Ocampo made a precise shot to the right of Nils-Erik Soned. Fluet FK's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2.
