Joaquin Gayoso made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. 6 minutes into the game, Kevin Carballal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Uruguay's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gyál United the free kick. A collision led to Uruguay getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Kevin Carballal hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Konstantinos Kroustallis in the 7th minute of play forced Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Walmir Breckenfeld struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Joaquin Gayoso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gyál United. In the 14th match minute, Gyál United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Konstantinos Kroustallis to maneuver through the defense. When Francisco Seco came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Uruguay fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Francisco Seco couldn't finish the play. After 17 played minutes Gyál United got a freekick which was hit by Sulev Aare. In the 20th minute, Gyál United's Zoltán Varga dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. After 24 minutes Uruguay's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Konstantinos Kroustallis who took care of the corner kick. Camilo Franco hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Joaquin Gayoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Walmir Breckenfeld, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Joaquin Gayoso was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Walmir Breckenfeld showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-0 in the 36 minute of play. When Zoltán Varga came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Gyál United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zoltán Varga couldn't finish the play. Francisco Seco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Horaţiu Petran having to interfere. When Francisco Seco came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Uruguay fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Francisco Seco couldn't finish the play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Francisco Seco stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Horaţiu Petran was a little too slow when Francisco Seco got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 53rd minute. The score was now 4-1. In the 55th match minute, Uruguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alberto Gisbert to maneuver through the defense. Francisco Seco could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Horaţiu Petran made a huge save. Gyál United's Horaţiu Petran proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save Gyál United from getting a goal against them. In the 63rd minute, Zoltán Varga left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Gyál United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-1. In the 66thth minute of the game Walmir Breckenfeld who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 67th minute of the match Gyál United got a corner. Uruguay's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Konstantinos Kroustallis ran over to the corner to take the kick. Horaţiu Petran made an important save on a dangerous shot by Maximiliano Escribano in the 69th minute. In the 70th minute Uruguay were awarded a corner. Jaime Cazalla went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 72nd minute, Konstantinos Kroustallis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Gyál United's Grigore Stoicu got a free kick in the 74th minute. Francisco Seco could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Horaţiu Petran made a huge save. In the 81st minute of the match Uruguay got a corner. Gyál United's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jaime Cazalla ran over to the corner to take the kick. 81 minutes into the game when Kenyon Lala tried to clear up in front of the goal it happened that the ball rolled into goal via right pole. An extremely disappointing self made goal which led to 5-2. Joaquin Gayoso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Zoltán Varga's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. With his leg Horaţiu Petran managed to avoid a goal in the 89thth minute, when Uruguay's Francisco Seco fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Tito Montaño made in the 92nd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Konstantinos Kroustallis immediately put the ball in play. Joaquin Gayoso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zoltán Varga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Erwin Bienvenu hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. Francisco Seco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 96th minute, Bruno Beldad hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Joaquin Gayoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Walmir Breckenfeld, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute.
