Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Jaime Pardo started the match with the kick off. Jaime Pardo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hector Covarrubias kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. Hector Covarrubias recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Erivaldo Teixeira charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Erivaldo Teixeira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Esporte Clube Italva's Erivaldo Teixeira got a free kick in the 11th minute. Jaime Pardo was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 13th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alan Campos during the 14th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Alan Campos kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Hílton Travassos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jacobo Nores read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Paraguay's Hector Covarrubias got a free kick in the 19th minute. Ivan Prats hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. After 25 played minutes Esporte Clube Italva got a freekick which was hit by Erivaldo Teixeira. Jaime Pardo was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 29th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

53 minutes into the match, Esporte Clube Italva's goalkeeper Hílton do Valle had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hector Covarrubias. Hector Covarrubias took the ball and in the 56 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hílton do Valle. Hílton do Valle dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. The supporters of Paraguay booed when Esporte Clube Italva was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hílton Travassos didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Esporte Clube Italva's Hílton do Valle got control of the ball when Jaime Pardo tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Benedito Alves fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Esporte Clube Italva's protests and gave Benedito Alves a yellow card for diving instead. In the 68th match minute, Esporte Clube Italva was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benedito Alves to maneuver through the defense. Narciso Pereira struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Jacobo Nores didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Esporte Clube Italva. Narciso Pereira made in the 88th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Cipriano Cordeiro however managed to control. After 90 minutes, Cipriano Cordeiro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Esporte Clube Italva and the Paraguay players grew even worse after the yellow card. Cipriano Cordeiro hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Jaime Pardo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Paraguay's Alan Campos got a free kick in the 95th minute. When the match was over Paraguay could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Esporte Clube Italva throughout the match.
