Sport Club Abrilense's Leopoldo Dominix played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 16th minute of play. Bonifacio Fero kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Sport Club Abrilense's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leopoldo Dominix came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dan Rüdy could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. Felix Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leopoldo Dominix having to interfere. In the 36th minute Sport Club Abrilense were awarded a corner. Dan Rüdy went to the cornerflag to take it. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Israel Edorta in the 39th minute. Leopoldo Dominix showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felix Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. In the 45th minute, Cristian Sancho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Severino Bruggink to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Severino Bruggink came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Felix Montenegro kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Sport Club Abrilense's Severino Bruggink got a free kick in the 57th minute. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sport Club Abrilense's goalkeeper Leopoldo Dominix, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Mariano Enol fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sport Club Abrilense's protests and gave Mariano Enol a yellow card for diving instead. Mariano Enol kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Leopoldo Dominix tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dan Rüdy recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 70th minute, Cristian Sancho reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Leopoldo Dominix. The goal made the score 0-2. Felix Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Leopoldo Dominix tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 77th minute, Mariano Enol hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leopoldo Dominix having to interfere. Leopoldo Dominix showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 87th minute of the match. 87 minutes in the game, Cristian Sancho dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. 91 minutes into the match, Sport Club Abrilense's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Leopoldo Dominix reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Cléber Catarinense came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Sport Club Abrilense fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cléber Catarinense couldn't finish the play. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Sport Club Abrilense throughout the match.
