Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. In the 9th minute, Carlos Santana left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Galo do Japi fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Santana in the 17th minute of play forced Sydney FC's goalkeeper Rasmus Gölz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half Galo do Japi were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Danko Schiffmann made the kick off in the second half. Carlos Santana could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 51st minute of the match, but Rasmus Gölz made a huge save. Rasmus Gölz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulo Renato Saraiva, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. In the 54th match minute, Sydney FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kees Plappert to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Galo do Japi booed when Sydney FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nat Schmitt didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Sydney FC's zone, Cafu Ringaa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rasmus Gölz came out of the goal and Cafu Ringaa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Thorben Rittmann in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ronaldo Giovanelli prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Sydney FC were awarded a corner in the 59th minute after Galo do Japi's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Tizian Borutta took the corner. After a rather tough play, Sydney FC's Danko Schiffmann got a free kick in the 60th minute. 63 minutes into the match, Sydney FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cléberson Lara came free, but Rasmus Gölz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Carlos Santana kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Rasmus Gölz. That made the score 0-5 in the 67 minute of play. 70 minutes into the match, Sydney FC's goalkeeper Rasmus Gölz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Paulo Renato Saraiva. With his leg Rasmus Gölz managed to avoid a goal in the 70thth minute, when Galo do Japi's Paulo Renato Saraiva fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Carlos Santana received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Rasmus Gölz came out and tried to block the shot, but Carlos Santana slotted it home off the left post making it 0-6 in the 71st minute. In the 75th minute Paulo Renato Saraiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rasmus Gölz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cléberson Lara in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rasmus Gölz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 79th minute Galo do Japi were awarded a corner. Cafu Ringaa went to the cornerflag to take it. A well done corner resulted in Paulo Renato Saraiva drilling the ball in to score 0-7 behind Sydney FC's goalkeeper. Ronaldo Giovanelli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thorben Rittmann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tizian Borutta hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Cléberson Lara's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rasmus Gölz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. Rasmus Gölz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Santana, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rasmus Gölz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cléberson Lara in the 92nd minute of the match. Sydney FC's Rasmus Gölz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulo Renato Saraiva in the 93rd minute of play. Rasmus Gölz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo Renato Saraiva in the 95th minute of play. Galo do Japi's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
