Carlos Santana in the 16thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carlos Santana couldn't finish the play. Carlos Santana who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 26thth minute tested the skills of Eşref Tuney when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Carlos Santana could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Eşref Tuney made a huge save. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Vetevendosje FC's goalkeeper Eşref Tuney, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Carlos Santana blasted a shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eşref Tuney having to make a save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Carlos Santana in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eşref Tuney saved Vetevendosje FC from getting behind. A sloppy throw-in by Karl Finnman in the 42nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Galo do Japi's Cléberson Lara. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jan Smolarek in the 45th minute of play forced Galo do Japi's goalkeeper Ronaldo Giovanelli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ronaldo Giovanelli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rafal Cichewski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jan Smolarek was the one to do the kick off. When Vetevendosje FC's Roland Rosendahl in the 53rd minute got a chance for a shot 53rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After having played for 84 minutes, Carlos Santana managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Galo do Japi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carlos Santana was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 86 minutes of play, Galo do Japi's Carlos Santana made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Eşref Tuney was left in no man's land by his defense there! Rafal Cichewski took the ball and in the 89 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ronaldo Giovanelli. Ronaldo Giovanelli dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Eşref Tuney made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Santana in the 92nd minute of play. Galo do Japi's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Cafu Ringaa in the 93rd minute. Galo do Japi's Cafu Ringaa was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Eşref Tuney in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Galo do Japi fans cheered their team off the field, for while Vetevendosje FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
