The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the match, Carlos Santana had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dorian de Lima. Renegados's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Carlos Santana was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Dorian de Lima showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Santana, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. 9 minutes into the match, Renegados's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Santana came free, but Dorian de Lima reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Galo do Japi's Carlos Santana in the 10th minute got a chance for a shot 10th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Renegados's goalie prevented a goal. 13 minutes into the match, Carlos Santana notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Renegados's Dorian de Lima. Dorian de Lima was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. César dos Santos hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. After 18 played minutes Renegados got a freekick which was hit by Luís Paulo Amorim. Carlos Santana might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dorian de Lima. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Carlos Santana ran back to his position shaking his head. 21 minutes into the game, Mário Secco was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Renegados's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Galo do Japi the free kick. Mário Secco hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. 22 minutes into the game, Galo do Japi's Carlos Santana nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dorian de Lima made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. After 24 played minutes Renegados got a freekick which was hit by Thiago Viana. After 25 played minutes, Galo do Japi's Cafu Ringaa shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Dorian de Lima came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Galo do Japi reached it. In the 26th minute, Paulo Renato Saraiva got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Galo do Japi's attentive César dos Santos managed to snatch the ball when Luís Paulo Amorim made a throw-in in the 28th minute of the game. In a very dangerous position, a player in Renegados fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 30th minute. Penalty! Carlos Santana took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dorian de Lima. Dorian de Lima dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5. Carlos Santana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Carlos Santana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Carlos Santana blasted a shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dorian de Lima having to make a save. Dorian de Lima showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Santana, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Galo do Japi's Carlos Santana got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 44 minutes into the game, Paulo Renato Saraiva cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-6. Dorian de Lima was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-6 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Albertinho Vieira to strike the kick off in the second half. Carlos Santana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 52 minutes into the match, Renegados's goalkeeper Dorian de Lima had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Carlos Santana. Dorian de Lima made an important save on a dangerous shot by Carlos Santana in the 53rd minute. Dorian de Lima was out of position in the 55 minute of play, and Cafu Ringaa capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Cafu Ringaa really showed his touch with that goal: 0-7. If Carlos Santana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 70th minute of the match, Carlos Santana got a very nice opportunity to score, but Dorian de Lima was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 72nd minute Carlos Santana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dorian de Lima saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Renegados defense, Carlos Santana kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dorian de Lima. The Renegados fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dorian de Lima should have stopped the shot. Paulo Renato Saraiva recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Carlos Santana's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dorian de Lima was relentless in the 85th minute of the game. In the 90th minute, Carlos Alberto Fernandez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 91st minute, Galo do Japi's Carlos Santana dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-12. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind Renegados's goalkeeper Dorian de Lima, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
