Ronaldo Giovanelli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rafal Cichewski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A throw-in in the 19th minute of the game was made by Karl Finnman with Karl Finnman as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. 21 minutes in the game Karl Finnman did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Roland Rosendahl. Vetevendosje FC's Eşref Tuney played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Santana in the 23rd minute of play. Carlos Santana might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eşref Tuney. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Carlos Santana ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Santana in the 28th minute of play forced Vetevendosje FC's goalkeeper Eşref Tuney to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 38 minutes, Carlos Santana managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Galo do Japi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carlos Santana was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 39 minutes into the match, Vetevendosje FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cafu Ringaa came free, but Eşref Tuney reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Carlos Santana blasted a shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eşref Tuney having to make a save. Carlos Santana might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eşref Tuney. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Carlos Santana ran back to his position shaking his head. Eşref Tuney made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Santana in the 43rd minute of play. After 45 played minutes Galo do Japi got a freekick which was hit by Zeca Caca-Rato. Jan Smolarek scored 1-1 in the 47th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ronaldo Giovanelli, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jan Smolarek stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Galo do Japi's Ronaldo Giovanelli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafal Cichewski in the 52nd minute of play. Eşref Tuney was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Carlos Santana showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 54 minute of play. Galo do Japi's Durvalino Caca-Rato was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Eşref Tuney in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Carlos Santana blasted a shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eşref Tuney having to make a save. In the 65th minute Carlos Santana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eşref Tuney saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ronaldo Giovanelli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rafal Cichewski, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. When Rafal Cichewski got free in front of the goal in the 67th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Ronaldo Giovanelli was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Galo do Japi's Carlos Santana slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Eşref Tuney. That made the score 1-4 after 69 minutes of play. Cafu Ringaa might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eşref Tuney. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cafu Ringaa ran back to his position shaking his head. 78 minutes into the game, Galo do Japi's Cléberson Lara nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Eşref Tuney made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-5. Carlos Santana's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eşref Tuney read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play. In the 82nd minute Galo do Japi were awarded a corner. Cafu Ringaa went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Galo do Japi's Cafu Ringaa to fire away a dangerous shot which Eşref Tuney despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Karl Finnman made in the 84th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Jan Smolarek. Galo do Japi's attentive Cléberson Lara managed to snatch the ball when Karl Finnman made a throw-in in the 86th minute of the game. Carlos Santana could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Eşref Tuney made a huge save. Carlos Santana recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Galo do Japi were furious when Cauan Catarinense was red carded, 96 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The Vetevendosje FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Galo do Japi's performance. The match ended with a win for Galo do Japi.
