The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Deportivo Craques fc's Laércio Trigo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 6th minute of play. 8 minutes into the match, Van Nistelrooy dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Julio Vera, 1-0. After 11 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Primitivo Andino. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Van Nistelrooy in the 12th minute of play. Van Nistelrooy blasted a shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save. Van Nistelrooy could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. Felix Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Laércio Trigo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Deportivo Craques fc's Laércio Trigo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 24th minute of play. The corner led Deportivo Craques fc's 程鸿奕 to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Laércio Trigo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Laércio Trigo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 34th minute of the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in Ecuador fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 36th minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Julio Vera, was totally fooled by Deportivo Craques fc's 程鸿奕, who 38 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Laércio Trigo having to interfere. Van Nistelrooy could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Laércio Trigo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 52nd minute. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Laércio Trigo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Laércio Trigo made a huge save. Daniel Zorita did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-1 to the left of a surprised Laércio Trigo 61 minutes into the match. Cristian Sancho in the 65thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Laércio Trigo, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Deportivo Craques fc made a substitution. Tudor Ponor replaced Van Nistelrooy. Luis Andino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Laércio Trigo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Deportivo Craques fc booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristian Sancho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 73rd minute to try and stop a shot by Deportivo Craques fc's Danilo Salgado. But to his dismay, Danilo Salgado quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Laércio Trigo made a huge save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tudor Ponor in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Jimeno Urritz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. The crowd rose to their feet as Daniel Zorita kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Laércio Trigo. That made the score 4-2 in the 85 minute of play. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. Many of Ecuador's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Ecuador may have spent more time on the ball, but Deportivo Craques fc were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
