Colombia's Pedro Manzanares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mete Gøl in the 10th minute of play. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Colombia from getting a goal against them. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Guga Trancoso in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. Koos Warringa got a throw-in 25 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Alfredão Prestes. Iurie Chiriacescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Axel Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Axel Montenegro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Iurie Chiriacescu having to make a save. In the 31st minute Axel Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iurie Chiriacescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Axel Montenegro in the 35th minute of play forced PIAUÍ FC's goalkeeper Iurie Chiriacescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 37 minutes into the match, Axel Montenegro notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of PIAUÍ FC's Iurie Chiriacescu. Iurie Chiriacescu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mete Gøl got free with Pedro Manzanares in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thanks to some nice moves Guga Trancoso could shoot a difficult shot in the 43rd minute, which Pedro Manzanares however easily saved by the left post. When the match had gone on for 46 minutes, Baturhan Oytun took a quick shot and it went in 2-2 without a chance for Pedro Manzanares to make any attempt to save it. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

Pedro Manzanares made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 8-2. A collision led to Colombia getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Kevin Mastache hit a great ball. Iurie Chiriacescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abram Secada in the 96th minute of the match. PIAUÍ FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
