Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Cacá Braga took the kick off in the first half of the match. Daniel Zorita took the ball and in the 13 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Iwan Wojtyna. Iwan Wojtyna dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. A hard shot by Augusto Arce from long distance, 21 minutes into the match, got Julio Vera's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Iwan Wojtyna showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 24th minute of the match. The supporters of Ecuador booed when RED-STAR was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cacá Braga didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dagoberto Linhares in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cacá Braga's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. Luis Andino blasted a shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Iwan Wojtyna having to make a save. 32 minutes into the match, RED-STAR's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Iwan Wojtyna reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cacá Braga got free with Julio Vera in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Iwan Wojtyna tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Ecuador booed when RED-STAR was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vitório Macedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. 42 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After 47 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Antonio Arias. RED-STAR's Augusto Arce shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 48th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Julio Vera but with some difficulty. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Luis Andino was extremely unlucky when he, in the 51st minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Daniel Zorita's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Iwan Wojtyna read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cacá Braga in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Iwan Wojtyna made a huge save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cacá Braga in the 66th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Ecuador booed when RED-STAR was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dagoberto Valadares didn't get a good kick on the ball. 68 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After 69 minutes, Dagoberto Linhares made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. Ecuador's Julio Vera tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience was convinced that Cacá Braga's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. Cacá Braga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iwan Wojtyna having to interfere. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dagoberto Linhares, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. In the 76th minute, Dagoberto Linhares made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. A nice corner shot did that Luis Andino got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Iwan Wojtyna quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 82nd minute of the match, Daniel Zorita got a very nice opportunity to score, but Iwan Wojtyna was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Iwan Wojtyna showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Agustín Saelices received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Iwan Wojtyna tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to RED-STAR getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. André Luís dos Santos hit a great ball. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 94th minute, Daniel Zorita fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. A hard shot 95 in the game by Cristian Sancho from a close distance when the talented Iwan Wojtyna managed to make a qualified save. RED-STAR's players were relieved. Ecuador were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
