With a little luck, Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's Arthur Bufi got control of the ball when Vítor Roque tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 21 minutes of play, Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's 余永川 made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Magnus Hedman was left in no man's land by his defense there! Lite Finare Lite Bättre's Magnus Hedman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gong Fan in the 24th minute of play. In the 27th minute, Gwidon Cwojdak got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Arthur Bufi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martin Dahlin in the 28th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vítor Roque in the 29th minute of play forced Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Arthur Bufi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vítor Roque took the ball and in the 29 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Arthur Bufi. Arthur Bufi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Martin Dahlin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Arthur Bufi made a huge save. 38 minutes into the match, Lite Finare Lite Bättre's goal looked a bit too open when 余永川 came free, but Magnus Hedman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The throw-in from Olavo Quadros in the 43rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Lite Finare Lite Bättre's Ivar Utfal. 余永川 took the ball and in the 45 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Magnus Hedman. Magnus Hedman dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Martin Dahlin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After taking down the ball on Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's corner Ye Hong Shi fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Magnus Hedman quite easily take care of the ball. Lite Finare Lite Bättre's Magnus Hedman proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Lite Finare Lite Bättre from getting a goal against them. In the 80th match minute, Lite Finare Lite Bättre was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Albert Vennerlund to maneuver through the defense.
