In the 21st minute Horst Stieber shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bianco Bellone saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Maiko Koewius's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bianco Bellone read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. With his leg Bianco Bellone managed to avoid a goal in the 95thth minute, when Frankfurt's Horst Stieber fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Frankfurt's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
