The Frankfurt fans' excitement grew in the 15th match minute when Frankfurt's Horst Stieber looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Horst Stieber in the 19th minute of play forced Villeret Academy's goalkeeper David Theiss to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 21st minute, Horst Stieber got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Maiko Koewius managed to get in a good position for a shot. Frankfurt's supporters rose to their feet, but Maiko Koewius was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. David Theiss breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 29 minutes into the match, Villeret Academy's goal looked a bit too open when Horst Stieber came free, but David Theiss reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Maiko Koewius scored 1-2 in the 31st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of David Theiss, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Frankfurt booed when Villeret Academy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Suppiger didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Villeret Academy defense, Horst Stieber kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of David Theiss. The Villeret Academy fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that David Theiss should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Horst Stieber in the 42nd minute of play forced Villeret Academy's goalkeeper David Theiss to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Horst Stieber in the 48th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg David Theiss saved Villeret Academy from getting behind. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Horst Stieber stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Villeret Academy's defense didn't have a chance, in the 53rd minute, when Horst Stieber scored to the left of an out of position David Theiss, making the score, 1-4. Horst Stieber recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Frankfurt's Bernd Engel got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Costa Ravens kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving David Theiss. That made the score 1-5 in the 59 minute of play. David Theiss took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maiko Koewius, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maiko Koewius in the 65th minute of play forced Villeret Academy's goalkeeper David Theiss to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Horst Stiebers short, quick shot in the 66thth minute got David Theiss to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After 69th play minutes Horst Stieber shot 1-6, a short shot which went by David Theiss and just under the crossbar into goal. After 72 played minutes Villeret Academy got a freekick which was hit by Jaro Silvestri. In the 72nd match minute, Frankfurt was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Costa Ravens to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Villeret Academy's Vicente Malatesta got a free kick in the 76th minute. 79 minutes into the match, Horst Stieber notched a goal, 1-7, to the right of Villeret Academy's David Theiss. David Theiss was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Costa Ravenss short, quick shot in the 85thth minute got David Theiss to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Boris Richstein sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Villeret Academy's zone, Maiko Koewius stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. David Theiss came out of the goal and Maiko Koewius tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 93rd minute, Frankfurt's Maiko Koewius ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind David Theiss. David Theiss yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-8.
