Esmeraldas S.C. were awarded a corner in the 6th minute after Green Squad FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Stefanos Terzopoulos took the corner. Damian Maftei sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 19 minutes into the match, Esmeraldas S.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Jessie Pinkman came free, but Aguinaga Nebot reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gilvan Sanches made an important save on a dangerous shot by Martinez Cines in the 21st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Damian Maftei in the 24th minute of play forced Green Squad FC's goalkeeper Gilvan Sanches to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gilvan Sanches made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Damian Maftei sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Willy Reynolds got free with Gilvan Sanches in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A well done corner resulted in Stefanos Terzopoulos drilling the ball in to score 1-0 behind Green Squad FC's goalkeeper. Gilvan Sanches made an important save on a dangerous shot by Willy Reynolds in the 39th minute. The supporters of Esmeraldas S.C. booed when Green Squad FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Conrado Pernambucano didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 42 played minutes Green Squad FC got a freekick which was hit by Jessie Pinkman. After a rather tough play, Esmeraldas S.C.'s Martinez Cines got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Aguinaga Nebot made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jessie Pinkman in the 45th minute of play. If Willy Reynolds had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Damian Maftei stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Green Squad FC getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Conrado Pernambucano hit a great ball. Aguinaga Nebot showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jessie Pinkman, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Gilvan Sanches stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Willy Reynolds's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. Esmeraldas S.C. were awarded a corner in the 59th minute after Green Squad FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Stefanos Terzopoulos took the corner. Esmeraldas S.C.'s Damian Maftei was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Gilvan Sanches in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. When Conrado Pernambucano fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Green Squad FC's protests and gave Conrado Pernambucano a yellow card for diving instead. In the 62nd match minute, Green Squad FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Conrado Pernambucano to maneuver through the defense. Esmeraldas S.C.'s Simon Caicedo was substituted for Pinto Cubria. The supporters of Esmeraldas S.C. booed when Green Squad FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Conrado Pernambucano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Green Squad FC's Gilvan Sanches played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Willy Reynolds in the 83rd minute of play. 83 minutes into the game, Willy Reynolds cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Gilvan Sanches was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Damian Maftei in the 89th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gilvan Sanches saved Green Squad FC from getting behind. A collision led to Esmeraldas S.C. getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Willy Reynolds hit a great ball. Aguinaga Nebot made a fantastic save in the 96th minute, when Jessie Pinkman sent off a good shot on target. Esmeraldas S.C.'s fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
