The crowd rose to their feet as RealMadrid Club de Fútbol's Ulisses Meira slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Alvaro Valente. That made the score 1-1 after 16 minutes of play. Ulisses Meira's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alvaro Valente read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. Feliciano Baumar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Luís Leme tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luís Leme made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Feliciano Baumar in the 26th minute of play. After a rather tough play, RealMadrid Club de Fútbol's Jens-Ola Ek got a free kick in the 33rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in RealMadrid Club de Fútbol's zone, Generoso Figueroa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luís Leme came out of the goal and Generoso Figueroa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Angelo Enetz kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match.

After 57 played minutes Scofield got a freekick which was hit by Generoso Figueroa. Alvaro Valente made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ulisses Meira in the 58th minute of play. The supporters of RealMadrid Club de Fútbol booed when Scofield was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Angelo Enetz didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Scofield eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
