An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Berganza in the 40th minute of play forced Fc Otelul Galati's goalkeeper Nicodim Iacobeanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcos Cotilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alin Teodorescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Berganza to make the kick off. Dylan Sarmiento's late challenge caught a Fc Otelul Galati's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nicodim Iacobeanu was out of position in the 86 minute of play, and Tomas Berganza capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Tomas Berganza really showed his touch with that goal: 0-2. After a rather tough play, Panama's Matthew Garrido got a free kick in the 90th minute. In the 91st minute the ball was on its way in behind Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Tomas Berganza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicodim Iacobeanu having to interfere. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Panama had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
