In the 4thth minute of the game Tomas Illescas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Stennäs FF's Olov Strand was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Olov Strand made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 13th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jose Correa got a free kick in the 14th minute. After 15 minutes, Guillermo Mariano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Venezuela and the Stennäs FF players grew even worse after the yellow card. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Håkan Björklund in the 16th minute of the match. When Håkan Björklund came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Stennäs FF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Håkan Björklund couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Örjan Levander tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Örjan Levander got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Örjan Levander's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Jonathan Ferrant firmly grabbed it by the left post. Andréas Rudberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 47 minutes of play, Stennäs FF's Håkan Björklund made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there! Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Örjan Levander ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patricio Costa in the 58th minute of play forced Stennäs FF's goalkeeper Olov Strand to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 60th minute, Jonathan Venegas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Stennäs FF booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonathan Venegas didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 64th minute, Örjan Levander left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Stennäs FF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. In the 68th minute Patricio Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olov Strand saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 69 minutes Stennäs FF's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Tomas Illescas who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Venezuela's Tomas Illescas to fire away a dangerous shot which Olov Strand despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Guillermo Mariano hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Örjan Levander, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Stennäs FF's Stefan Nordgren was substituted for Andréas Rudberg. A collision led to Stennäs FF getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Herman Rosin hit a great ball. In the 90th minute, Patricio Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Stennäs FF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Herman Rosin didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 94th minute of the game Herman Rosin made a throw-in which Henning Lingren played forward. When Håkan Björklund came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the Stennäs FF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Håkan Björklund couldn't finish the play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Stennäs FF fans cheered their team off the field, for while Venezuela had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
