The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Go Ahead Eagles's Alkaios Tsionas got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Chatziioannou Kakratsas's late challenge caught a Cheetah Team's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Chatziioannou Kakratsas helped the player get up and apologised. After 6 played minutes Go Ahead Eagles got a freekick which was hit by Chatziioannou Kakratsas. 9 minutes into the match, Giannis Papakostopoulos notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Cheetah Team's Bengt Ånger. Bengt Ånger was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Alkaios Tsionas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Cheetah Team's Agne Bergfelt got a free kick in the 20th minute. In the 21st minute Chatziioannou Kakratsas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bengt Ånger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. David Beckham recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 30th minute, Giannis Papakostopoulos left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Go Ahead Eagles fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Chatziioannou Kakratsas scored 1-3 in the 34th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bengt Ånger, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 37 minutes, Giannis Papakostopoulos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Go Ahead Eagles's supporters crossed their fingers, but Giannis Papakostopoulos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bengt Ånger showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Giannis Papakostopoulos in the 38th minute of the match. Bengt Ånger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chatziioannou Kakratsas in the 41st minute of play. In the 42nd minute, Giannis Papakostopoulos collided with one of Cheetah Team's players - so bad that he fractured his nose. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-4.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell David Berggren to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Go Ahead Eagles's Nikos Moustos got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Bengt Ånger was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Nikos Moustos showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-5 in the 55 minute of play. Panos Rachiotis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bengt Ånger having to interfere. Chatziioannou Kakratsas struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Bengt Ånger didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Go Ahead Eagles. Cheetah Team's Bengt Ånger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chatziioannou Kakratsas in the 67th minute of play. 68 minutes into the match, Nikos Moustos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bengt Ånger. Cheetah Team's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nikos Moustos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-6. Bengt Ånger took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nikos Moustos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. David Beckham fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bengt Ånger having to interfere. In the 78th minute, Nikos Moustos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bengt Ånger was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-7. Gert Tholsson hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. 85 minutes into the match, Cheetah Team's goalkeeper Bengt Ånger had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Chatziioannou Kakratsas. In the 87th play minute David Beckham came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Bengt Ånger. 1-8.
