Gugu Oliveira hit a great ball. Green Squad FC's Hernani Pirani played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alkaios Tsionas in the 3rd minute of play. In the 5th minute, Chatziioannou Kakratsas made a precise shot to the right of Hernani Pirani. Green Squad FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Giannis Papakostopoulos in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hernani Pirani saved Green Squad FC from getting behind. Hernani Pirani stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Giannis Papakostopoulos's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. After 12 minutes of play, Go Ahead Eagles's Giannis Papakostopoulos made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Hernani Pirani was left in no man's land by his defense there! Go Ahead Eagles's Themistoklis Charalambakis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save Go Ahead Eagles from getting a goal against them. 19 minutes into the match, Green Squad FC's goal looked a bit too open when Giannis Papakostopoulos came free, but Hernani Pirani reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jorge Gaspar in the 21st minute of play forced Go Ahead Eagles's goalkeeper Themistoklis Charalambakis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Green Squad FC's Hernani Pirani played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Giannis Papakostopoulos in the 22nd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Giannis Papakostopoulos in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hernani Pirani prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 25thth minute of the game Giannis Papakostopoulos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Green Squad FC's Hernani Pirani was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Giorgos Tsartas charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Giorgos Tsartas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Giorgos Tsartas kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. 27 minutes into the match, Green Squad FC's Oséias de Alcântara sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Themistoklis Charalambakis narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After having played for 28 minutes, Alkaios Tsionas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Go Ahead Eagles's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alkaios Tsionas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Giannis Papakostopoulos in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hernani Pirani prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Green Squad FC's zone, Giannis Papakostopoulos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hernani Pirani came out of the goal and Giannis Papakostopoulos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Jorge Gaspar came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Green Squad FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jorge Gaspar couldn't finish the play. Giannis Papakostopoulos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hernani Pirani having to interfere. Hernani Pirani showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from David Beckham in the 44th minute of the match. Green Squad FC's Hernani Pirani played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Giannis Papakostopoulos in the 46th minute of play. 47 minutes into the match, Green Squad FC's goal looked a bit too open when Giannis Papakostopoulos came free, but Hernani Pirani reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Green Squad FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Go Ahead Eagles were winning 0-2.
The wind increased when Giannis Papakostopoulos made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Gilmar Carneiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Giannis Papakostopoulos who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 54thth minute tested the skills of Hernani Pirani when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Hernani Pirani stood somewhat misplaced when Giannis Papakostopoulos came free in front of goal and shot 0-3 to the left of him in the 56 minute. In the 59th minute, Giannis Papakostopoulos made a precise shot to the right of Hernani Pirani. Green Squad FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. A hard shot 64 in the game by Giannis Papakostopoulos from a close distance when the talented Hernani Pirani managed to make a qualified save. Green Squad FC's players were relieved. When Willian Sousa fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Green Squad FC's protests and gave Willian Sousa a yellow card for diving instead. The referee showed Rômulo dos Santos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Go Ahead Eagles booed when Green Squad FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rômulo dos Santos didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Go Ahead Eagles's Giannis Papakostopoulos slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Hernani Pirani. That made the score 0-6 after 94 minutes of play. Go Ahead Eagles's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
