The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The crowd rose to their feet as Adriano Imperatore kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Benito Sanz. That made the score 1-0 in the 6 minute of play. Ntinos Balouris took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Axel Tasis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 19th minute, INTERISTAS's Adriano Imperatore dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. Benito Sanz was out of position in the 29 minute of play, and Adriano Imperatore capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Adriano Imperatore really showed his touch with that goal: 4-1. In the 38th play minute Adriano Imperatore came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Benito Sanz. 5-1. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mastur Bateman in the 45th minute of play. Benito Sanz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Theofilos Karypidis in the 46th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 5-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Axel Tasis's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 51stth minute, Ntinos Balouris skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The supporters of INTERISTAS booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eliseo Noboa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Adriano Imperatore might have been able to make a better finish in the 53rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Benito Sanz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Adriano Imperatore ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of INTERISTAS booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexander Carballo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 58th minute the ball was on its way in behind INTERISTAS's goalkeeper Ntinos Balouris, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 59th minute, Lautaro Puig left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Costa Rica fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-2. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adriano Imperatore, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. After 70 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Abel Carballo. Benito Sanz came out of the goal in the 71st minute to try and stop a shot by INTERISTAS's Adriano Imperatore. But to his dismay, Adriano Imperatore quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-2. 80 minutes into the game, Efrain Moruga was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Costa Rica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave INTERISTAS the free kick. In the 80th minute, Efrain Moruga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Theofilos Karypidis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kyriakos Lyberopoulos took the ball and in the 84 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-2. 87 minutes into the game, Lautaro Puig cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 7-3. Ntinos Balouris was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 90 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Mastur Bateman came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Argyris Mousios struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Benito Sanz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for INTERISTAS. There was no doubt that INTERISTAS were the better team. INTERISTAS's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
