The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Carlo Ancelotti to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 63rd minute, Colombia's Axel Montenegro ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Eric Soned. Eric Soned yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-2. Colombia's Ignacio Mastache was substituted for Abram Sarmiento. Colombia made a substitution. After a defensive mix-up in Colombia's zone, Carlo Ancelotti stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedro Manzanares came out of the goal and Carlo Ancelotti tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match had gone on for 93 minutes, Carlo Ancelotti put it in 4-3 from a short distance just to the right of Pedro Manzanares. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Étoile Sportive Du Sahel fans cheered their team off the field, for while Colombia had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
