Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Baldomiro Fernanco kicked off to start the match. The corner led to Mexico's Luca Zorita getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 12th minute of play forced Gimnasia LP's goalkeeper Tiran Piedra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tiran Piedra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 14th minute of play. Tiran Piedra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 23rd minute of the match. The supporters of Gimnasia LP booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alberto Tafalla didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gimnasia LP's Ruperto Gentza quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Leonardo Leoz, made in the 27th minute of the game. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Baldomiro Fernanco in the 28th minute of play. Tiran Piedra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. The throw-in from Leonardo Leoz in the 33rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Gimnasia LP's Hansmorten Adelsbro. William Costa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Dante Lacasa made a huge save. 35 minutes into the match, Gimnasia LP's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Tiran Piedra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tiran Piedra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 37th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Gimnasia LP's zone, Alberto Tafalla stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tiran Piedra came out of the goal and Alberto Tafalla tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Leonardo Leoz during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 44 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Leonardo Leoz.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joel Gaona to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Joel Gaona fired a really elegant long shot, but Tiran Piedra threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. In the 53rd minute Mexico were awarded a corner. Joel Gaona went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Joel Gaona got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Tiran Piedra quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Tiran Piedra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Tafalla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 60 minutes into the match, Gimnasia LP's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Tiran Piedra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 62 minutes of play, Mexico's Joel Gaona made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tiran Piedra was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Amado Sindo in the 66th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lautaro Mancebo got free with Tiran Piedra in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gimnasia LP's Ruperto Gentza managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Leonardo Leoz in the 76 minute of the game. Alberto Tafalla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 80th minute of the match Mexico got a corner. Gimnasia LP's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joel Gaona ran over to the corner to take the kick. Hernan Su tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Tiran Piedra. An unnecessary self made goal, 1-3 in the 81st minute. Lautaro Mancebo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Joel Gaona's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tiran Piedra was relentless in the 87th minute of the game. Amado Sindo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 90 minutes into the match, Gimnasia LP's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Tiran Piedra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Gimnasia LP booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alberto Tafalla didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mexico's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
