Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Daniel Zorita made the kick off and thus started the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tiran Piedra breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gimnasia LP's Tiran Piedra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 14th minute of play. After 16 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Cristian Sancho. When the match had gone on for 18 minutes, Amado Sindo took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Julio Vera to make any attempt to save it. Felix Montenegro might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tiran Piedra. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Felix Montenegro ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 30th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tiran Piedra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 36th minute, Amado Sindo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Gimnasia LP fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Tiran Piedra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 39th minute of the match. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Amado Sindo went, in the 41st minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Baldomiro Fernanco to strike the kick off in the second half. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 51st minute to try and stop a shot by Gimnasia LP's Amado Sindo. But to his dismay, Amado Sindo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Tiran Piedra in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Tiran Piedra in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Gimnasia LP's Tiran Piedra proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save Gimnasia LP from getting a goal against them. Baldomiro Fernanco might have been able to make a better finish in the 64th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Baldomiro Fernanco ran back to his position shaking his head. Tiran Piedra made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 66th minute. In the 70th minute, Hansmorten Adelsbro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gimnasia LP's Angelino Urdin was substituted for William Costa. After a rather tough play, Gimnasia LP's Hansmorten Adelsbro got a free kick in the 71st minute. 73 minutes into the match, Gimnasia LP's goalkeeper Tiran Piedra had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. A collision led to Gimnasia LP getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Ruperto Gentza hit a great ball. 80 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Amado Sindo came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 82 minutes had been played when some careless play by Gimnasia LP's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amado Sindo in the 86th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Amado Sindo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amado Sindo in the 90th minute of the match. When the referee blew the final whistle, Gimnasia LP could leave the field as winners, despite Ecuador having more of the ball for most of the match.
