Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Afonso Amado took the kick off in the first half of the match. 2 minutes into the game, Juan Rubio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Costa Rica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Desert Fury the free kick. After 2 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Juan Rubio. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Axel Tasis got a free kick in the 6th minute. Hélio Manarte received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Benito Sanz was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Afonso Amado showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 17 minute of play. After 21 minutes, Efrain Moruga mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Costa Rica and the Desert Fury players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 21 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Efrain Moruga. Tadeu Flores had several of the Costa Rica's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 22 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-0 score and a disappointed Benito Sanz as he didn't even see the shot coming. In the 24th match minute, Desert Fury was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ailton Flores to maneuver through the defense. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nuno Ramos in the 26th minute of play. A collision led to Desert Fury getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Ailton Flores hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Afonso Amado in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benito Sanz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 34 minutes, Afonso Amado made it 4-0 with a short kick to the right side. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 36th minute, Ailton Flores hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. João Carlos Caneças charged in rather forcefully in the 38th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed João Carlos Caneças the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 38 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's Axel Tasis broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 41 minutes into the match, Desert Fury's goal looked a bit too open when Lautaro Puig came free, but Hernani Correia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With his leg Benito Sanz managed to avoid a goal in the 42ndth minute, when Desert Fury's Afonso Amado fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Tadeu Flores sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Axel Tasis was the one to do the kick off. Axel Tasis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 55 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Afonso Amado came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Pedro Apalanga managed to get in a good position for a shot. In the 58th minute, Lautaro Puig got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Eliseo Noboa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Hernani Correia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 63rd minute Nuno Ramos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Afonso Amado in the 70th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tadeu Flores fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. In the 92ndth minute of the game Pedro Maurito who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Costa Rica's Benito Sanz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 93 minutes, Pedro Maurito made it 8-0 with a short kick to the right side. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Desert Fury getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. João Carlos Caneças hit a great ball. There was no doubt that Desert Fury were the better team. Desert Fury's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
