In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 18 minutes of play, SALIMEN's Cláudio Pimenta made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. The audience thought a goal was coming when Faustino Gerazan got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 46th minute, Venezuela's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Faustino Gerazan fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomas Illescas made a kick off. Patricio Costa hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. 53 minutes into the match, Cláudio Pimenta had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cláudio Pimenta was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. In the 62nd minute Cláudio Pimenta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
