Tom Sandström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Niclas Monschke in the 5th minute of the match. 6 minutes in the game, Niclas Monschke dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. After some careless play in the Kazak SK defense, Niclas Monschke kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tom Sandström. The Kazak SK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tom Sandström should have stopped the shot. Tom Sandström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Don Merlot in the 11th minute of play. After a rather tough play, SSV Ulm 1846's Niclas Monschke got a free kick in the 12th minute. Kryspin Cupial showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Davíð Diallo in the 13th minute of the match. Albrecht Bosbach hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. In the 19th match minute, Kazak SK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Göran Holmberg to maneuver through the defense. 20 minutes into the game, SSV Ulm 1846's Don Merlot nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tom Sandström made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Niclas Monschke received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Tom Sandström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Through an outstanding action, after 41 minutes, Kryspin Cupial successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After a defensive mix-up in SSV Ulm 1846's zone, Davíð Diallo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kryspin Cupial came out of the goal and Davíð Diallo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Don Merlot stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Kazak SK's Tom Sandström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Niclas Monschke in the 51st minute of play. Kryspin Cupial showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Davíð Diallo, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. With a little luck, Kazak SK's Tom Sandström got control of the ball when Don Merlot tried to sneak it across the goal line. Göran Holmberg made in the 56th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Malte Wikander immediately put the ball in play.
