In the 45th minute Hugó Révész shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zachariasz Czarnecki saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Keszi Athletic's Sabin Calderon was substituted for Anton Kutnjak. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half.
