Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 11 minutes into the match, Northern California's goal looked a bit too open when Bruno Domenichetti came free, but Domingos Savier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luciano Goizeder was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 13th minute. Northern California's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After 15 minutes, Bruno Mosley mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Manly FC and the Northern California players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 17th minute, Manly FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Cristian da Rocha fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Artur Pernambucano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustavo Isazi in the 23rd minute of the match. In the 24th minute Northern California were awarded a corner. Luciano Goizeder went to the cornerflag to take it. Northern California's Luciano Goizeder was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Artur Pernambucano in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 25 minutes into the game, Luciano Goizeder lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Artur Pernambucano. After a rather tough play, Manly FC's Şinasi Yoruç got a free kick in the 30th minute. Domingos Savier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Barney Boylin in the 40th minute of the match. 41 minutes into the match, Northern California's goal looked a bit too open when Bruno Domenichetti came free, but Domingos Savier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustavo Isazi in the 42nd minute of play forced Manly FC's goalkeeper Artur Pernambucano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Evelio Orti during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gustavo Isazi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Andres Dollymore's late challenge caught a Northern California's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Andres Dollymore helped the player get up and apologised. In the 52nd minute, Andres Dollymore hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 53 minutes, Gustavo Isazi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Northern California's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gustavo Isazi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Şinasi Yoruç was shown his second yellow card after 60 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Artur Pernambucano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Severo Pacho in the 62nd minute of play. In the 67th minute, Bruno Mosley reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Domingos Savier. The goal made the score 1-1. Domingos Savier made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bruno Domenichetti in the 70th minute. Artur Pernambucano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luciano Goizeder, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mecnun Mengüalp's late challenge caught a Northern California's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mecnun Mengüalp helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Manly FC getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Mecnun Mengüalp hit a great ball.
